Privacy policy
Learn With Nathan is a free learning library. It carries no advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party trackers, and personal information is never sold or shared for anyone else's marketing. This page explains exactly what is collected, why, and how to get rid of it.
The short version. To read the books you create an account, so we hold your name, your email address, a hashed password, and how far you have read. That is the whole picture. You can delete all of it yourself, at any time, from the Account screen.
Who is responsible
Learn With Nathan is operated by Nathan Thiyagarajah. For any question about this policy or about your information, write to info@a1aiagents.com or use the contact form.
What is collected, and why
| Information | Why it is held | When it is collected |
|---|---|---|
| First and last name | To address you in the Academy and in email | When you create an account |
| Email address | To sign you in, verify the address, and send password resets | When you create an account |
| Password | To sign you in. Stored only as a cryptographic hash — the original is never written down and cannot be recovered by anyone, including us | When you create an account or change your password |
| Account owner role | To record that a parent, guardian, or adult learner owns the account | When you create an account |
| Reading progress | To reopen each book where you stopped and show your progress | As you read |
| Session records: browser or app identifier and IP address | To keep you signed in, and to let you see and sign out other sessions if an account is misused | Each time you sign in |
| Enquiry form: name, email, organization, topic, message, IP address | To answer what you asked | Only if you submit the contact form |
| Newsletter email address | To send Academy updates | Only if you subscribe |
Nothing else is collected. There is no advertising identifier, no location data, no contacts access, no device fingerprinting, and no profiling.
What is never done
- Personal information is never sold, rented, or shared for anyone else's advertising or marketing.
- No advertising network, analytics SDK, or cross-app tracking is present in the website or in the mobile apps.
- No automated decision-making affects your access to anything.
Who else touches your information
Two service providers process information strictly on our instructions and for no purpose of their own:
- SendGrid (Twilio) delivers verification, password-reset, and account emails. It receives your email address and the contents of that email.
- The hosting provider that runs the Academy servers, which necessarily stores the database that holds your account.
Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the safety of a person or the integrity of the service.
Cookies
One cookie is set: lwn_session, which keeps you signed in. It holds a random token, not your identity, and it expires after 30 days or when you sign out. No advertising or analytics cookies are used, so there is no consent banner to click through.
How long information is kept
- Your account and reading progress are kept for as long as the account exists, and are deleted immediately when you delete it.
- Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days, and end sooner when you sign out or sign out other sessions.
- Verification and password-reset codes expire within 15 to 30 minutes.
- Enquiry messages are kept while we deal with the enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself, without asking anyone:
- In the mobile app: Account → Delete account → confirm your password.
- On the web: sign in at academy.learnwithnathan.com, open Account, and use Delete account.
Deleting removes your profile, your reading progress, every sign-in session, any pending verification or reset codes, and your newsletter subscription. It happens straight away and cannot be undone. A confirmation email is sent to the address that was on the account. Full instructions are on the account deletion page.
Children
Learn With Nathan is not directed at children, and children cannot create accounts. Registration asks who is setting up the account, and anyone who indicates they are under 18 is asked to involve a parent or guardian instead. Some books are written for readers aged 8 to 10; they are intended to be read by a child alongside the adult who owns the account. If you believe a child has created an account without an adult, write to info@a1aiagents.com and it will be deleted.
Security
All traffic to the website, the Academy, and the mobile apps travels over HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as hashes. Session and verification tokens are stored hashed, never in their original form. On phones and tablets the session token is held in the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore.
Your rights
You can see and correct your name from the Account screen, change your password at any time, sign out other sessions, and delete your account outright. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to request a copy of the information held about you, to ask for it to be corrected, or to object to how it is used. Write to info@a1aiagents.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Where information is held
Learn With Nathan is operated from Canada, and information may be processed in Canada, the United States, or other countries where our service providers operate. Wherever it is processed, it is handled under this policy.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it, and a substantive change will be announced in the Academy before it takes effect.
